People’s Choice Award Goes to Tu Adios

Film from Colombia Captures Prize With Most YouTube ‘Likes’

LOUISVILLE, March 25, 2019—Goodness Reigns is excited to announce the winning filmmaker of its 2019 People’s Choice Award, Francisco Cruz Cuevas for his film Tu Adiós (Departure).

Honorable Mentions go to the following films:

Vocation by Dmitrii Darsht of Kaluga, Russia

Lose the Labels by Audrey McClatchie of USA-Maryland

Navajeen: New Life in Christ by Ria Mary Vaniapurackal of Kerala, India

The winning filmmaker Francisco, age 23, is from Bogotá, Colombia. His film depicts a father teaching his son the meaning of life and of forgiveness. It is a lesson close to Francisco’s own heart as you will come to understand by watching the film. He will receive the top prize of $500.

Francisco chose to pursue filmmaking in order to tell stories that “could actually make people believe in a better future.” With this same short film, Francisco won the award for Best Short Film of the 2018 UNIV Congress in Rome.

Everyone is invited to watch these and other films from the Goodness Reigns “Share the Story” Short Film Contest. This growing repository of short films for the general public will help illustrate humanity’s goodness, particularly springing forth from the Christian faith.

Filmmakers, from beginners to experts ages 14 and older from around the world, submitted their videos for the short film contest.
