Prior to each World Youth Day, Goodness Reigns commissions an artist to create an original painting reflective of the WYD theme and the host country.
WYD 2019 will take place in Panama City, Panama, and the theme comes from Mary’s humble acceptance of God’s invitation to become Jesus’ mom: “I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)
Artist Piotr Słowik of Poland created “The Good Samaritan” for World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, Poland.
The artist chosen will receive $500. The image will become part of Goodness Reigns’ growing collection of WYD paintings and will be displayed during WYD.
Goodness Reigns is asking artists to email a sketch that creatively brings together the WYD theme and the country of Panama. Please include include the following information with submissions:
